Gloves Provide False Security

Just because you are wearing gloves, does not excuse you from properly washing your hands. According to Jon Otter, healthcare blogger, wearing gloves reduces the “urgh” factor. He explains this as eliminating the instinctive reaction of performing correct hand hygiene after touching something soiled or contaminated because you are “wearing gloves”. Despite the constant use of gloves, please remember to change them between every patient; in addition to, washing your hands before every patient visit.
